Ticarcillin, almost invariably sold and used in combination with clavulanate as Timentin, is a Beta-lactam antibiotic similar to penicillin. It is often used as an injectable antibiotic for the treatment of gram negative bacteria, and is especially effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
