Xopenex®-HFA inhaler. Levalbuterol (Xopenex®) is the R-enantiomer of the short-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist albuterol. As a bronchodilator, it is used to treat asthma and COPD. In general, levalbuterol has similar effects, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics to albuterol.
