Dutasteride (marketed as Avodart®, Avidart®, Avolve®, Duagen®, Dutas®, Dutagen®, Duprost®) is an antiandrogen which inhibits the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. Clinical studies have found it to be more effective than finasteride in doing so, as it inhibits both isoforms of 5-alpha reductase.
