Lotrel contains two prescription medicines that work together to lower blood pressure: amlodipine besylate (the active ingredient found in NorvascĀ®), a calcium channel blocker, and benazepril hydrochloride (LotensinĀ®), an ACE inhibitor. A doctor will prescribe Lotrel only after other medicines haven't worked.
