Parasite may mean:
- An organism which lives on or in a different organism; see Parasitism. Ectoparasites live outside the host and endoparasites live within the host.
- An ancient Greek professional guest. The meaning comes from the Greek word Παράσιτο parasitos, which means "one who eats from another's table." A parasitos was a sycophant who dined at the tables of the rich.
