The Human Brain Its one Amazing Machine Wax Model Science
I know it looks wierd maybe even science fiction or horror bizzare but on the other hand its beautiful and of course amazingly complex like the deepest part of the ocean or the vast universe something still to be explored This is a model made for medical students in the 19th century in Austria We can be glad they had them to learn about our bodies and to perform surguries in a much safer way Just think of all the thinks we do with this invent machines write plays run races you name it and the brain does it good bad and otherwise One of the thousand of incredible items on display in this astouding museum Yes this is show upside down to display the medula and nervous system connections

150 365 BRAIN FREEZE
Day 150 of the 365 Journey TODAY was 96 Degrees Talk about HOT If you were standing in the right place at the right time you might have caught a breeze but it wasn t nearly enough to make much of a difference We got up this morning and helped a friend out with some much needed puppy socialization He and his girlfriend picked up a stray Siberian husky from the pound a few months ago The little guy 53 lbs seems to be pretty good by himself he just freaks out when other canines come into the equation So we ALL went on a nice LOOONG walk to help the little guy work though his issues I think with our friends structured routines and a counter balance of love and affection the year and half old man s best friend will turn out to be a great companion Did I mention the dogs had a BLAST in the pool The entire back yard was pretty soaked haha NOW EVERYONE that has EVER had a Slurpee knows exactly what BRAIN FREEZE is Even on a day like today where you work up a sweat just opening the front door brain freeze is NOT welcomed I don t care if the name implies cold chilling sensations or not THAT CRAP FRICKEN HURTS The worst is when it sloooooowly sneaks up on you I actually learned a useful tidbit of info a few years ago about the throbbing cold sensation The nerves in that actually freeze are located on the roof of your mouth If you take your tongue which is primarily warm even stil and press it against the top you can USUALLY curve the pain and perhaps even stop it if you re quick enough TRUST me it works I eat enough ice cream to know this trick intimately Oh yea It s my day 150 I know it s not half way there but it still seems like a big milestone right Strobist Shutter Speed 1 160 Aperture 6 4 ISO 100 Focal Length 37mm White Bal Auto 580exII Camera left with 45 shoot thru umbrella at 1 4 power 5ft from subject 580exII Camera right with 45 shoot thru umbrella at 1 2 power 5ft from subject

of ending there keeps on going up the nerves of the spinal cord to the brain The brain then decides what we are feeling and we can identify the object as a spoon or a nickel or a pencil Motor nerves from the brain cross over in the spinal cord Thus a nerve from the right side of the brain supplies a muscle on the left side of the body Motor nerves work just as fast as
