Days Like This

I want to say thanks to everyone who stops by my photostream Even if I don t get the time to respond to each and every comment I want you to know that they are all very much appreciated As some of you know I have <a href= http en wikipedia org wiki Crohn s disease >Crohn s Disease< a> I don t talk about it a lot as I try to ignore it as much as possible and just get on with enjoying life Unfortunately I m not having a great time at the moment and I m on steroid medication which has a habit of turning me into a bigger nutter than usual I was having a particularly rough day yesterday probably having eaten something I shouldn t have the day before and when I got home I was thinking of just crawling into bed I get very severe stomach cramps and I m not able to take any kind of pain relieving tablets Codeine based pills just make the cramps even worse and treatment with aspirin is liable to cause haemorrhaging I m restricted to an antispasmodic pill called Buscopan and some herbal remedies Anyway instead of going to bed I switched on my computer and checked the recent activity on my photos finding some wonderfully supportive words As I said it really does mean a lot to me I m not quite sure why I chose this old shot as an accompaniment to these words but I suppose it s something to do with the nostalgia of looking back to a time when everything seemed a lot simpler This is me in the early 70s with me da behind me steering the boat In those days all of my clothes were at least third hand and I remember picking at the white threads on this jacket One of my strongest memories of that period of my childhood is my father s stubble on his chin which you can see developing here He didn t shave during his two week holidays and used to tickle me with his chin when putting me to bed My mate was doing the same thing with his daughter yesterday which may indeed explain why I m posting this now
