sure do appreciate my vet
knowing dixie is a stray and that i m just trying to do the best i can for this girl michele really gave us a break on dixie s a k a quot Stray quot on the paperwork vetting today besides being emaciated and malnourished this girl is healthy michele detected a slight heart murmur but figures this is most likely due to her condition and suggested that if we brought her in a week from now it would probably be gone we ran a couple of blood tests for FIV and feline leukemia and also received a quot certificate of health quot basically stating she is free of contagious and infectious diseases fecal was fine michele also detected the spay scar so at least that s a for sure although there was little doubt in my mind that if someone had her declawed they would have had the spay done at the same time she also put dixie at 1 2 yrs of age i saw some staining on the canines so i m inclined to think closer to 2 when michele asked about a rabies shot i said quot nope if she s been spayed she ll deifinitely have received at <i>least< i> her core vaccines she doesn t need her rabies again and besides she will go to a strictly indoor home quot michele s response quot good quot and that was that on the vaccination discussion not to mention the fact that a rabies vaccine given to a cat in this condition could kill her the limp she has in her front right is due to some scabs on her toes every one of her toes has scabs but they re worse on the right probably a combination of frostbite and her desperate attempts to rip through trashbags without claws to survive it was michele s associate vet who checked out the scabs and he advised softening them and putting polysporin on i think not they are dry and well scabbed and i d rather not lay them open to the possibility of infection from the litter box they re doing fine but i ll keep a close eye on them we also had her microchipped our address for now the adoptive family later janet made a good point
