ICP Monitor Hydrocephalus

Eddie started collapsing in April 2008 Doctors sent him for an MRI and found he had a build up of fluid in his brain he was then admitted for ICP monitoring to see if his brain had ICP Intercranial Pressure His pressure was fine so we are now waiting for a more detailed MRI

Subarachnoid haemorrhage with hydrocephalus meningioma CT brain

Brain CT in this 57 y o female patient shows a predominantly left posterior fossa cerebello pontine angle SAH which has filled the prepontine cistern and obliterated the expected basilar outline Blood is also seen dependently in the left lateral ventricle and over the left insula cortex Note the associated complication of early hydrocephalus prominent temporal horns of lateral ventricles Final diagnosis was unfortunately never clarified but a ruptured berry aneurysm at the tip of the basilar artery is a reasonable hypothesis on imaging grounds The well defined small calcified mass arising from the floor of the left middle cranial fossa most likely represents a meningioma

Hydrocephalus is a disease due to obstruction in cerebrospinal fluid pathway this is a congenital anomaly in the most cases In this anomaly CSF couldn t exit from the cranial space then interfere brain growing and maturation This patient is a case of severe Hydrocephalus admitted to emergency room after falling head trauma unfortunately this patient is very poor prognosis due to parents delay this is another shot in take care set take care in diagnosis congenital problems
