January 15 2009 Ah Thursday is finally here Not sure if you know what this machine is if you do then you know if I own one then it s probably not a good thing If you don t know what it is it s a blood pressure monitor that I use daily Back in 2003 I was diagnosed with having high blood pressure They didn t know what the cause was and I learned only 20 of people with high blood pressure actually find out why the have it It could be that it runs in the family it could be a lot of other things They have never been able to tell me why I have it and with being adopted at birth I have no family medical history so I am not sure if it runs in the family or not The only thing is my sister who is fully blood related doesn t seem to have issues with it which is good because it sucks I have gone through a group of cardiologists a nephrologist probably 10 + family doctor s and a few know it all ER doctor s all were fired by me I guess I should clarify fired I can t really fire them I simply stopped going to them but fired sounds so much better I stopped going to them because none of them seemed to care about me and none of them seemed to want to change medications to see if something else would work better I finally found a good no excellent doctor close to home She is amazing and from the very first appointment I knew I liked her Most import she is proactive and listens to me and I feel we are in this together She has made me feel at ease got me off some pretty nasty blood pressure meds that were not doing a damn thing for me besides making me feel like I was 80 and ¾ to my death bed My blood pressure is more stable since seeing this doctor which is really nice My blood pressure could average in the 180 s over 120 s which as you probably know is very high Currently it s averaging 140 s over 90 s which isn t perfect but much better and with every point down I am less at risk for a heart attack or stroke I just have to keep on it by taking my meds twice a day taking daily
