SK Photowalk Sylvester Stallone Star

This shot was selected as the quot winner quot of the Hollywood edition of Scott Kelby s Worldwide Photowalk competition thank you Paige for all your hard work From what I can gather there has been some displeasure with the selection because it was quot photoshopped quot Hard not to be a bit defensive but for me the act of capturing a digital image doesn t stop when I push the shutter button any more than it did when I had my own black and white film darkroom and I would spend hours playing with variable contrast filters dodging burning and exotic developers and toners to achieve a particular look If one shoots on Hollywood Boulevard one must try at least one shot of the stars in the sidewalk that make it famous I selected Sylvester Stallone and then set the camera down on the ground with a 14mm lens stopped down to f 22 and did a time exposure as people walked by Just wanted to do something a bit different and this one worked The star forces the eye into the image like an arrow I did a bit of processing with the Nik Color EFX 2 0 Tonal Contrast plug in filter a recent fave of mine but nothing dramatic Mostly just contrast and curves admustments
