I Hate Poison Oak

We went backpacking last weekend The plan was to go out Friday morning and return Sunday night It started raining on Friday just as we got to the campsite We sat huddled under a tarp sipping hot cocoa to stay warm It rained pretty much nonstop for the rest of the day Backpacking in the rain sucks The clouds cleared just in time to see the stars before going to bed We went to sleep dejected but hopeful Saturday morning we woke up the sun was shining the skies were blue and my neck was covered in poison oak I suspect I got it from the dog I am religious about keeping clear of the stuff and she s generally pretty good at staying on the trail but nobody s perfect Knowing how susceptible I am completely disappointed we packed up camp and headed back to the car I called up Kaiser when we got back into town and made an appointment to go in and meet with a doctor Unfortunately the doc gave me a prescription for 4mg of Prednisone for 1 week That s not enough and my symptoms got progressively worse as you can see I went back in yesterday and got my prescription adjusted 20mg for 3 weeks I m hoping tomorrow will be better than today As for now I can just barely see well enough to type I hate poison oak

today is very a good day i was on prednisone for a while for my IBD complete with a miserable set of side effects since its steroidal i had to taper down my dose we tried this in between but that didn t go so well but now i ve tapered i haven t had to go back and soon i ll be free of quot the facies quot though you really can t tell from this angle i m sure i ll be seeing prednisone sometime again in the future but for now its time to celebrate
