Red Clover at Sunset
<i>Trifolium pratense< i> There is a large empty lot at the end of my street that is covered with red clover When the sun is setting the backlit flowers create a reddish pink glow that appears to hover over the field Today I finally took the time to walk down there and get pictures of these beautiful flowers And as luck would have it it was very breezy which is always a big challenge when shooting wildflowers But I was patient and ended up with a few good shots Red clover is a nutrient rich herb used to feed cattle as well as treat many human conditions Read more about it on <a href= http www altmd com Articles Red clover Beebread Cow clover Cow grass Meadow cl >AltMD com< a>

young borage plant
for your identification pleasure this is a weed to keep around yummy for bees
borage up close
borage also called quot bee bread quot because it s so amazingly delicious for bees and one of the best flowers for honey production grows wild without any encouragement at all and is entirely edible pluck off the flowers just the tender blossom not the spiny part which tastes kind of fishy oddly and eat on its own sweet or put in salads jams iced teas or other beverages or whatever unusual use you can cook up it s a great substitute for sweetener in summer drinks it s lovely and it re seeds itself heartily so once you ve got it you needn t worry about saving seed or buying new plants seeds check out the next photo in my stream for what the plant looks like before it s in flower
