Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis Eosinophilic Granuloma or EG

Usually a primarily upper lung cystic disease these images show variably shaped cysts in the mid and lower lungs that DO NOT spare the costophrenic angles It was however found at open lung biopsy to be LCH The vast majority gt 90 of these patients smoke cigarettes and thus smoking cessation is a vital component to treatment Steroids can also be used Advanced LCH leads to fibrosis end stage lung and can require lung transplantation
