OK so today I finally got to see a specialist about my effing finger that s been giving me grief for the last few months At first I thought the diagnosis would be a tendon injury caused by climbing which I took up maybe 6 months ago But to my surprise it s not The surgeon who saw me and gave me the once over along with examining my X Rays and declared it s either a case of quot trigger finger quot which in actual fact is caused by the sheath surrounding your tendons growing too thick and restricting movement Not the slightly more dubious route of actually pulling a trigger on a gun and offing baddies Or it s the early onset of arthritis The former can be treated short term with steroid injections which was the first course of action both to alleviate my discomfort and to see if it works The results of which should be noticeable in a few days If it does then the problem is most likely operable If not then I guess I have to get used to the fact I indeed have started with arthritis It s by no means the end of the world in either case The latter though just gives me pause for thought with regard to the passage of time and the effects it clearly has on my health Growing old er simply put is a bitch <a href= http bighugelabs com flickr onblack php id=3307453778 amp size=large >View On Black< a>
