Last month I injured a tendon in my right hand I m not exactly sure how I did it But four weeks had gone by and it was still hurting so my chiropractor gave me a referral to a hand specialist with the idea I might get an MRI and maybe a cortisone shot My appointment was at 9 30 this morning Despite rain and bad traffic I manage to get there on time The waiting room is full of old people in wheelchairs They looked like they d had strokes The questionnaire asks about my episodes of dizziness headaches and falling I zoom through page after page writing quot N A N A N A quot I take my forms up to the receptionist and notice that the doc s card says he s a quot Vertigo and Balance Disorders Specialist quot I tell her that I think I ve been referred to the wrong doc She says I ll have to wait to speak to him to find out for sure An hour and fifteen minutes later I finally see a Med Tech I say quot I think I m in the wrong office quot and explain my story He says hmm don t know what to do about that let me get the doctor Fifteen more minutes go by A physician s assistant comes in amp tells me that legally they re required to see me because he s a neurologist there was a referral blah blah blah In other words I m not leaving So these two physician s assistants who look exactly like the new interns on Grey s Anatomy come in and DESPERATELY try to find something neurologically wrong with me They shine lights in my eyes ears up my nose They ask me tons of questions and look disappointed at my answers Any dizziness Nope Seriously no dizziness at all Nope Not ever not even a little bit Are you SURE you don t have a brain tumor They have me make circles with my thumb and fingers and they try to pull them apart Heehee I ve been working out almost everyday for almost four months and I am <i>strong < i> You cannot pull my fingers apart if I don t want you to They tap me all over with a rubber reflex hammer One of t
