Our cats Teddy and Yogi absolutely do not get along Unfortunately Teddy is the weakest of the two and thus has the short end of the straw Yogi bit four abscesses and twelve punctures into Teddy This is what Teddy looked like after an emergency vet visit To answer your question the flesh looking things emerging from the shaved areas of his body are called drains and they help absorb excess blood and any other liquids they ll be removed in just three to five days Despite his strange state Teddy is still the same loveable cat as always If you say his name he ll rub against the nearest object and pur although at times he rubs his drains against your leg which isn t the most pleasant feeling The whole Yogi problem is a tough one to fix Everyone has acknowledged the idea of locking Yogi in a different room with his basic needs while we re gone but Yogi would sooner or later realize that it s technically Teddy s fault that he s being constrained The only sensible answer is to secure a bell collar around Yogi s neck to at least assure that Teddy can tell where Yogi is With time and love Teddy s wounds will heal and his hair will grow back
