This looks totally innocuous at this point but in February it was a swollen oozing lump I was staying with my mum on <a href= http maps google com maps f=q amp hl=en amp geocode= amp q=Hamilton+Island +queensland +australia amp ie=UTF8 amp ll= 20 342213 148 988686 amp spn=0 072591 0 150375 amp z=13 amp iwloc=addr >Hamilton Island< a> and it rained a LOT The back path up to her school she s the principal got really slippery with this silty mud and being the klutz that I am I of course managed to injure myself on it I didn t actually fall over but my right foot kinda skidded like I was going to do the impromptu splits and the top of my left foot got kinda dragged along the pavement I was wearing thongs what Americans call flip flops and I didn t even realise I was bleeding til I got up to the verandah and looked at my very muddy toe only to notice an unexpected red bloom This was REALLY deep it s now a raised scar The skin was actually SHREDDED I poked at it with a cotton tip for ages and I couldn t get all the mud out of it As a result it hurt like SHIT for like a week oozing and full of pus Gross huh My left knee was also bruised from bearing my weight as I actually went over Also most of my coffee kinda shot up out of my cup as I went down It looked pretty hilarious actually Also visible thong tan Ha ha

Sprained my ankle pretty badly was so painful I had real trouble sleeping and can t stagger more than about two meters without total agony mud and wellington boots are completely out of the question so i m stranded in the tent Still there s been no further rain at least thank heaven for small mercies oh and Flyingpops mum found me some nurofen on one of the stalls so fingers crossed I might be able to hobble up to the beer tent later

I m back in business I m hoping to run a half marathon in April as long as my leg holds up without injury I intended to run 6 or 7 miles today but my iPod died at around 1 5 miles and I got a bit bored once I hit the parts of the trail with less traffic
