Me and my cousins when we were teenagers
The people of Puerto Rico have a very complex genetic history This was caused by centuries of intermarriage between all the races that inhabited the island These are my cousins on my father s side of the family My father s family has lived on the Northwestern tip of the island of Puerto Rico for hundreds of years and their presence on the island can be traced as far back as documents are available The number of relatives on my father s side of the family is quite large and I can find relatives all over the place in my hometown My mother family arrived in the 19 century from southern Spain and it is much smaller than my father s We used to have much fun together when we were young and I have many happy memories of those times We have followed diferent paths from right to left the cousin to the right works with the goverment and is involved in politics I am a biologist and aviculturist my other cousin is a teacher and an artist and raises rare tropical fishes the last cousin died relatively young but his work was a teacher of English for handicapped students The cousin that died and I were close and we shared our love of animals I still miss him
