Living with Crohn s Disease

I have suffered from Crohn s Disease since I was 10 years old I have been poked and prodded more times than I care to count and in places I don t even want to mention I fight it on a daily basis and even with massive amounts of medications along with trying all known treatments under the sun within reason it still has complete control over every single aspect of my life Crohn s Disease is an incurable intestinal disease and has varying degrees of severity no two people have the exact same symptoms nor quot triggers quot that set off full blown attacks I was lucky enough to get the most severe quot variety quot yay me They say that the two highest contributing factors are ethnic background and a stressful childhood It is an extremely painful disease and even when not in full blown form there are never days of actually feeling quot great quot Getting out of bed every morning is a major struggle and having to push yourself to do even the most simple everday things is extremely difficult Will power heightened public awareness of the disease and it s difficulties along with newer amp better medications have helped over the years but I still live for the day when a cure is found or at least I can control the pain instead of it controlling me

<a href= http www active com donate MI09florida jrosenberg >www active com donate MI09florida jrosenberg< a> Dear Friends Thank you for reading this picture description As many of you may already know I have been suffering from Crohn s Disease since March of 2001 For those who do not know Crohn s Disease which is closely related to Ulcerative Colitis is an autoimmune disorder that most commonly affects the small intestine however it often affects the entire digestive tract as well as other areas of the body Since I was initially diagnosed I have been treated with different diets and a plethora of expensive medicines including chemotherapy anti TNF biological agents steroids etc etc Currently I inject myself once per week with Humira I have been hospitalized for weeks at a time due to both direct intestinal complications as well as extra intestinal manifestations such as rheumatologic joint symptoms I am writing this to ask for your help I have joined up with Team Challenge the fundraising arm of the Crohn s amp Colitis Foundation of America www ccfa org Early next year I plan on crossing the finish line of the ING Miami Half Marathon 13 1 miles with thousands of other participants many who have also joined Team Challenge Our goal is to raise money to help find a cure for Crohn s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis Funds raised through Team Challenge will go directly towards helping the CCFA find cures for these debilitating diseases Team Challenge is unique in that more than 83 cents on EVERY dollar the foundation spends will go towards important potentially life altering programs Please take a moment and fill out the secure online donation form at <a href= http www active com donate MI09florida jrosenberg >www active com donate MI09florida jrosenberg< a> If you have any questions you can contact me at jsrcyclist mac com Thank you Justin Rosenberg Deerfield Beach FL
