... Jessica Pasley knows about the urgent need for bone marrow donors. Seven years ago, Pasley lost her 2-year-old daughter, Jade, to leukemia. Then Jade's twin, Jillian, was struck with the disease. Pasley and her husband begged their community to sign up to be marrow donors, but they were disappointed by the numbers. What was the problem? The Pasleys are African-American, and African-Americans have very low rates of bone marrow donorship.
