Is it easy to get a liver transplant in india?

Is it easy to get a liver transplant in india?

My cousin will probably need a liver transplant in punjab, india..I am not sure how it works in india. I was told by his doctor that a family member will need to give part of their liver to him because they dont touch dead bodies in india. Maybe people just dont donate. I hope people with some experience or knowledge about the system could give some answers.
