Every one is different, but I certainly can't relate taking ORAL steroids to taking an inhaled steroid. I hated Advair and atrovent because both caused thrush so badly in my mouth (yeah, I rinsed) that I coudln't live with that. .... The atrovent inhaler (ipratropium bromide) shouldn't cause weight gain since it's not a steroid. It blocks actions of acetlycholine to allow your lung muscles to dialate easier.
